Dr. Jigar Patel grew up in Virginia. He attended Eastern Virginia Medical School where he graduated at the top of his class and served as President of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency training at Duke University where he served as Chief Resident. As a resident, Dr. Patel was involved in developing innovative technologies to enhance patient care focusing on safety and quality improvement for dermatologic procedures. He also received a grant opportunity to provide dermatologic care in Botswana, Africa. Dr. Patel then completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology in Houston at MD Anderson Cancer Center, the #1 cancer hospital in the U.S. He has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented at national and international meetings. In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys basketball and exploring the outdoors.
